USING LINGUISTIC GAMES IN TEACHING ORTHOGRAPHY

Abstract
Based on the relevant theory of teaching methodology and the current literature in the field of normativity, in this paper we investigated a possibility of using linguistic games in teaching Serbian orthography in the second grade of high school. Four different games used in the research are adapted to meet the aims and the assignment requirements of practicing the knowledge of split words at the end of a line. The implementation of the games contributed to the enrichment of students’ overall knowledge of language culture and influenced a greater student interest in other topics related to this important segment of language teaching.
