WHAT COMES AFTER ERROR ANALYSIS? (A CASE STUDY OF PAUCAL AND PARTITIVE PHRASES IN TEACHING SERBIAN AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE)

Abstract

This analysis focuses on several types of incorrectly formed complex paucal and partitive noun phrases found in the written compositions of foreign students at the beginner levels of Serbian language proficiency (A1 and A2). It also examines the teaching material used in instruction (Let’s Learn Serbian 1), specifically the sections devoted to paucal and partitive constructions. The primary objective of this study is to determine whether any aspects of the textbook or the applied methodological approach should be revised or improved in relation to these syntactic structures, with the aim of enhancing their future classroom presentation and acquisition. Furthermore, the study seeks to explore whether the existing teaching material could be supplemented by the findings of the previous error analysis, as well as by the results of the present research.
