METHODOLOGICAL PREPARATION FOR THE INTERPRETATION OF A NOVEL
Main Article Content
Abstract
The basic methods used in teaching literature are: voice methods (monologue and dialogue), the text method, the demonstration method, reports and excursions. According to Milija Nikolić, the fi rst two are based on a linguistic sign systems, the methods of demonstration are based on a non-linguistic semiotic system, whereas the last two are based on their mutual combination. In the methodology of teaching there are many other classifi cations of methodological procedures, but generally speaking this classifi cation is the most widely accepted. With the proper selection of methodological procedures a literary analysis becomes far more fruitful and purposeful, the teacher uses improvisation to a lesser extent and the allotted time is used rationally. Before beginning the interpretation of a novel, the teacher must be very careful in selecting the methods that would be most appropriate and provide the best results. The novel gives us the most complete and the most miraculous experience of life that transcends individual experience.
