A TEACHING APPROACH TO THE NOVEL <em>SEOSKA UČITELJICA</em> BY SVETOLIK RANKOVIĆ

Abstract

The paper focuses on the novel Seoska učiteljica by Svetolik Ranković, which is presented through an analytical and methodical approach. The writer writes about the teacher’s life chances in Serbia before the end of the 19^th century. He knows how to spot the negative in society and in Seoska učiteljica shows backwardness of the Serbian people, a narrowminded setting, a low inteligence of peasants and a teacher’s pain and suffering in a village.
