THE CREATION OF PROBLEM BASED LEARNING APPROACH FOR THE STUDY OF THE PLAY "JELISAVETA PRINCESS OF MONTENEGRO"
Main Article Content
Abstract
The study of the play “Jelisaveta princess of Montenegro” in schools is built on the principles of problem based learning. As the main problem we are highlighting the author’s deviation from historical facts infavour of the creation of the artistic truth. It is shown, on adequate examples, to what extent Đura Jakšić used the authentic historical data during the artistic processing of the story about the fate of the last members of the Crnojević family and to what extent this artistic processing is the product of the author’s imagination. Special attention is payed to the character of Jelisaveta Crnojević. By deviating from historical data and by expanding the story of the fate of Đurđe Crnojević’s wife, the author creates one of the most significant and most complex female characters in Serbian historical plays.
